Key West, FL (July 29, 2025) — A.H. of Monroe County (AH) is proud to recognize the immense contributions of Stephen C. Aube, a dedicated volunteer who has devoted nearly a decade to serving the organization and its clients. Volunteering an average of 120 hours per month, Mr. Aube has become a cornerstone of the AH community, demonstrating unwavering commitment across multiple leadership and support roles.
Since 2016, Mr. Aube has been a pivotal leader within the agency’s Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC is a vital body where AH clients provide direct feedback to shape agency programs, influence policy, and ensure services effectively meet community needs. In his nine years serving as Chairperson, co-chair, and secretary for the committee, Mr. Aube has been instrumental in making sure client voices are heard. For nearly a decade, he has also acted as the client liaison to the A.H. Board of Directors, a role to which he was just reelected.
“Stephen’s long-term dedication is the bedrock of our work at AH Monroe,” said Scott Pridgen, Executive Director. “He is a true community leader whose efforts are fundamental to our success. Whether he is representing our clients in statewide advocacy meetings or, for many years, personally cooking Thanksgiving dinner for our entire community, his impact is felt at every level.”
Beyond his advocacy and leadership, Mr. Aube has been a major force in fundraising, producing the popular “Smart Ride Bingo” for six years and once earning the title of number one crew fundraiser for The Smart Ride. His commitment extends to serving as co-chair of the Florida Keys HIV Community Planning and Partnership Committee and representing Monroe County on the statewide Florida Comprehensive Planning Network (FCPN).
Mr. Aube’s volunteerism is a powerful example of the community-driven spirit that allows AH Monroe to fulfill its mission. His work, from direct client support and fundraising to high-level advocacy, directly enhances the organization’s ability to provide critical health services and stable, affordable housing to the residents of Monroe County.
